Note: Data on the number of firms and their market capitalization is measured at the end of 2019. The percentage market capitalization of a country is calculated as the total market capitalization by firms that hold earnings calls and are based in that country divided by the country's total market capitalization (and multiplied by 100).

A firm's market capitalization is calculated as the number of outstanding shares multiplied by the end-of-year share price converted into USD. A country's total market capitalization is defined as the sum of market capitalization by all firms in Capital IQ's Compustat.
