Terminology

Query: The keywords, date range, filters, and any adjacent-sentence behavior that specify what text is evaluated. The query string is the keywords, phrases, and operators entered in the Query field; the search name, selected measures, display settings, and export options are separate.

Search: Running a query to create or update a dataset. An initial run, refresh, edit and rerun, combination, or comparison each counts as one search against your plan limits.

Dataset: The saved result created or updated by a search, containing your call-level measures. Refreshing updates the same dataset in place; running a new query, editing and rerunning, combining, or comparing creates a new dataset.

Measure: A variable in a dataset, such as Exposure, Risk, or Sentiment. See Measure definitions for how each measure is calculated and interpreted.

Curated Measures: The library of maintained datasets based on published research. For example, Country Risk is a curated dataset whose variables are country-level measures.

Index: The headline aggregate time series of a curated dataset, such as the NLA Country Risk Index.
